Hole 8

A spectacular long par 5 that is sure to feature on your list of most memorable holes at Sanctuary Lakes. The fairway sits at you diagonally requiring you to shape the ball left to right if you want to avoid the gnarly rough on the left hand side. A wall of large deep bunkers on the right side entice you to take on a heroic carry. Once the tee shot is negotiated the second shot presents similar decision making. The largest bunker on the course sits menacingly 100 metres short of the green. Players who are unlucky enough to find the bunker, or who lay up short of it will be left with a blind uphill shot to a narrow, undulating hourglass shaped green. Players who successfully play out to the right and manage to get past the bunker with their second shots will be presented with a delicate pitch to a very well-guarded green. A northerly wind will make this hole reachable in 2 shots, but any wind from the south will make a par well earned. A great, fun golf hole!

Playing Tip

Cutting the bunkers off the tee will give you a chance to reach in two, but will bring more hazards into play.
