Hole 14

Don’t be deceived by the generous fairway and somewhat straightforward appearance of this mid-length par 4. It often plays into the afternoon southerly wind from nearby Port Philip Bay, making it a much longer hole than the 365 metres on the card. Like most holes on the course, the 14^th is all about positioning your tee shot on the side of the fairway that gives you the best angle for your approach shot. With a green depth of over 40 metres sloping from front to back and right to left, the best angle of approach requires tee shots to skirt the bunkers on the left hand side of the fairway. A deep, small pot bunker is hidden on the left side of the green to catch any shots that are off target. Misses short, or right of the green will leave players with delicate recovery shots that will be hard to stop on one of the quickest greens on the course.

Playing Tip

A tee shot to the right hand side of the fairway will leave a tough and skinny approach shot to a tucked pin.
